What I’d actually do

If I were starting today with no hardware and a normal budget, I’d buy a Mac mini with 32 GB and a $100 external drive. Under a grand, silent, done.

If I had $2,000 and wanted this to be a real project I’d grow into, the Framework Desktop, because 128 GB opens doors that don’t close.

And if I already had a PC with a spare slot, a used 3090 is the cheapest way to the fastest experience — just mind the power bill.
